Prime Minister Laptop Scheme (will be referred as PM Laptop Scheme 2018) is a laptop award scheme by Federal Government of Pakistan for the  talented students studying in universities across Pakistan including FATA, Gilgit Biltistan & Azad Kashmir.  Students studying in BS, Masters, Mphil/MS & PhD are awarded laptop under this PM Laptop scheme. On the next page, you will be redirected to the registration page where you can apply for PM Laptop Scheme 2018. You have to start with entering your CNIC #. Please  note you have to enter your OWN Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number. You can’t enter CNIC of your father/mother or guardian.  After entering your CNIC , fill in the captcha & hit “Submit” button.

After you hit the submit button, you will be redirected to instructions & disclaimer page. Kindly read the disclaimer & click ”Accept & Continue” button. By clicking this button, you agree to all the terms & conditions & will be redirected to the next page.

Once you click ”accept & continue” , you will be redirected to the next page where you have to fill a registration form in order to apply for PM Laptop Scheme 2018. On this page, you will be asked to enter your personal information including CNIC #, name, father’s name, date of birth, gender, address & employment status.  Please note that employment status doesn’t affect  the criteria so be honest & if you are employed in any public or private company, mention the same.  After providing all the personal information, click on NEXT STEP.

On the next page, you will be asked to provide your academic information including your enrollment number (provided to you by the university you study in), data of admission, city of university, university, department, degree level etc. All these columns are linked with each other so you select one option, only the relevant choices will be visible in the next column. For instance, if you select city of university as “Islamabad”, only the universities located in Islamabad will be visible in next column.  Fill this form very carefully. You can’t modify any information once the form is submitted. Once you have provided all the required academic information, click on NEXT STEP & you will be taken to the next page.

On this page, you’ve to verify your contact information.  Once you enter your cell phone number, a button “Send Code” will appear; just click on it & you will receive a verification code on your cell number; enter that verification code in the code verification column & click on verify code button . Do the same process with email verification/ Please note that you may have to wait for a few minutes to receive the verification code on your mobile. Do note that avoid using the mobile number whose network has been changed. You may not receive a verification code on an MNP number.  Once verified, click SUBMIT.

Terms used in Application Status for PM Laptop Scheme 2018

Applied: Student has successfully submitted his/her application for new registration.
Verified: HEC has verified the student record from concern university.
Disapproved: Student has been disapproved for PM Laptop Scheme 2018 solely by the university focal person due to incorrect academic record, dropped out, misconduct etc
Selected: You have been selected on merit for the award of laptop & will be awarded with a laptop soon.
Not Selected: The student is eligible for a Laptop award but not selected due to limited laptop quota.
Asset Issued: Student has already been awarded a laptop in previous scheme(s) / Phase(s) of PM Laptop Scheme. In case of any discrepancy, kindly contact your university’s focal person.

Eligibility Criteria for PM Laptop Scheme 2018

  • In order to be eligible for Prime Minister Laptop Scheme 2018, student:
  • must have a valid CNIC number.
  • must be a valid student of an eligible university before the last date

Distribution Criteria for PM Laptop Scheme 2018

The distribution criteria for PM Laptop Scheme 2018 is defined as follow:

  • Provincial distribution corresponding to enrolment share, proportionate to the overall enrollment of students in the higher education institutes, excluding students covered under below categories .
  •  All students enrolled PhD, MPhil, MS or equivalent program in any public sector university will be eligible.
  •  2.5% Quota for students of Virtual University & Allama Iqbal Open University.
  •  5% Quota for students studying in Government Polytechnic institutes or Government College of Technology.
  •  5% Quota for students of degree and postgraduate colleges of Federal Capital and Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
  •  Remaining laptops for students studying in Bachelor and Master (16 year) program of public sector higher education institutes, this includes students of Waiting List from previous year distribution and new admissions between July 2017 and June 2018.
